Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and the music from Disney’s beloved animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a musical of powerful emotions and unforgettable melodies. It transports the audience to medieval Paris and tells a touching story of love, hope, and acceptance of difference.
This is the largest production in Samppalinna Summer Theatre’s recent history: nearly 40 performers and musicians bring to life the impressive world of 15th-century Paris along with the stirring music of Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken. Menken is also known for hit musicals such as The Little Mermaid and Sister Act, which had its Finnish premiere at Samppalinna in summer 2016, attracting over 38,000 spectators.
