A coach trip from Hämeenlinna to Rauma Lace Week offers a unique opportunity to experience Finnish culture, craftsmanship, and local atmosphere. Lace Week is the highlight of Rauma’s summer, when the town comes alive with colourful lace displays and a wide variety of events.
Our journey begins early in the morning as we board the coach and head towards Kivikylä Meat Products factory shop. In this authentic smokehouse-scented factory outlet, we enjoy our morning coffee.
After coffee, we continue to an interesting historical excursion where a guide introduces us to a Bronze Age burial cairn. This unique site offers a glimpse into the past, allowing us to imagine the lives and rituals of ancient times.
Next, we head towards Rauma and its sights. We conclude the morning with lunch at Restaurant Knuutinpoika in the Rauma Town Hall. After lunch, we proceed to Old Rauma, a UNESCO World Heritage site that feels like a journey back in time. On our guided walking tour, we stroll along narrow streets admiring beautiful wooden houses.
Finally, our guide takes us to the market area and lace exhibition, where we can enjoy the lively market atmosphere. There is also an opportunity to purchase handicrafts, delicacies, and other local products to take home.
